Journal Entry (November 13, 2013)

This past weekend I was planning on working on my project but unfortunately I was busy with other responsibilities. So this Friday I plan on working. I want to go over Fetching with Bailey as well as learning to sit, stay, and respond to name. I plan on going to my aunt's house as soon as I get home form school and working the rest of the day because I want to get my recordings done so I can begin to construct my video and poster board. I have found that treats work best when training Bailey, and so do either socks or toys. I plan on making a checklist of what I need to work on and looking up videos and other websites that go over dog training on Friday too. I want to eventually be able to complete most of what I plan to do with Bailey.

Video Progress

The days I haven't been able to go to my aunt's house to record, I have been getting used to the video editing software on my computer, iMovie. I've been doing this so that I won't struggle later on trying use the software when I have almost finished my project.

So far in my project I have filmed Bailey completing one trick. I would have done more at this point, but things just kept coming up in my project that made it hard for me to work on my project. Most of my issues were technology related and most of the videos I had recorded either didn't work on my computer or got deleted. I can't put any videos on this blog (at least from what I know so far) and thats what the main format of my project is going to be in.

My project consists of me teaching my aunt's dogs, Sasha and Bailey tricks and other obedience lessons they need to learn. So far I'm seeing that it is easier to work with Bailey since he is the one most open to doing things. I have also taken into consideration that Sasha took obedience school in the past and she failed. She had went to sleep during class. So I think that I will mostly work with Bailey and record him the most.
